Our commitments
Caring for the soil, the animals and our trade.
Trees in our fields, an organic farmers’ group, trials with ITAB. This is how we work.
Agroforestry
Trees in our fields: agroforestry
We plant trees in the fields where we grow the cereals that feed our pigs. Rows of trees cross the fields, with crops growing between them.
The trees work for the soil and the crops. Their roots hold soil and water, their leaves feed soil life, their light shade protects the cereals from heatwaves and the tree rows break the wind. They also shelter birds and insects that help the crops.
This is long-term work. The first trees were planted in 2025. Trees planted today will reach their full effect in twenty years.

What trees bring to the crops
Living soil
Fallen leaves feed life in the soil.
Better water retention
Roots hold soil and water in the fields.
Less wind and heat
Tree rows break the wind. Their light shade protects the cereals.
Biodiversity
Trees shelter birds and insects that help the crops.
Carbon storage
As they grow, trees store carbon in their wood and in the soil.
A living farm
Animal welfare
Our pigs live outdoors, in stable groups. No slatted floors.
Biodiversity
Hedges, tree rows in the fields, ponds and permanent pastures. Birds and insects find their place.
Short supply chain
We sell direct, at the farm, with no middlemen. The meat is cut and packed by a local abattoir.
Our farmers’ group
Bio Direct, our farmers’ group
We are part of Bio Direct, a group of around a hundred farmers across France. All of them raise 100% organic pigs, and together they market around 40% of French organic pig production.
Each farmer chooses their own farming method and breed, within the Bio Direct specifications. A technician from the group can support them in running their herd if they wish.
Bio Direct asks for consistency between what is raised and what is harvested: at least 50% of the pigs’ feed must be grown on the farm. That is exactly how we work, with cereals from our own fields.
Research
Research and trials: our work with ITAB
ITAB is the French Technical Institute for Organic Agriculture. It runs trials with volunteer farms to improve organic practices.
What we learn on our fields is then shared with other farmers.
